Jack in Charlotte

Before their marriage, Jack decided to pursue the opportunity to operate a mine in Charlotte. He shared his enthusiasm with Jeanie before his departure:
 
"I can hardly believe my senses when thinking over the fact that your humble servant is the Director of a Company & the one who is to carry out the plans and projects of the rest."
