The Charlotte Municpal Airport opened in 1936 under the auspices of the city of Charlotte.
Alois Louis Steinhauser (1851-1923) owned a lovely estate in the 11th Ward near Liddell Street in Uptown Charlotte.
Charlotte native William Morse was born on September 27, 1868. He was the son of Richard Morse who owned a marble yard at 210 South Tryon Street. Over the years, William Morse operated his studio with two partners, W. Carson Davis (1909-1910) and William Thomas Lindsay in 1918.

The Southern Manufacturer's Club was a private men's club located on 300 West Trade Street. It was home to some of the most prominent business leaders and writers in Charlotte during the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. The lavish facility first opened in 1894.

The American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte was completed in 1937 and seats over 15,000 people. The Shriner Football games and numerous other events take place every year. Also featured in the postcard is the Armory House of the National Guard.

The Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) was organized in Charlotte on November 11, 1874. This was the second building constructed by the organization. It was located next door to the Latta Arcade in the 300 block of South Tryon Street.

Anna Morrison Jackson made her home in Charlotte off and on following the death of hersband, General Stonewall Jackson. This was the first home she lived in, and it was located on Trade Street.

The history of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte began in the basement of Central High School in 1946 as an extension program of the UNC system. Three years later when UNC tried to close the school, Bonnie Cone led the good fight to keep it open.

Thad Lincoln Tate (1865-1951) was one of Charlotte's earliest and most prominent African American businessmen. He came to Charlotte as a barber. In 1882, he opened his own shop, an enterprise that he would operate for 61 years.
Verdie Lee Perrell was born in Guilford County, North Carolina in 1902. He was affiliated with The Gallagher Commercial Studio from 1922-1925. From there he partnered with W. Marvin Dunaway and formed Dunaway and Perrell Detective Agency and Commpercial Photography in 1926.
Another Charlotte, photography mystery lies in the identity of the owner of the Stertzbach Studio on West Fifth Street. There is no mention of this person in any Charlotte City directory.
