• West Charlotte High School students write letters to the Boston Globe describing Charlotte’s successful integration efforts. 
• The southern students are invited to visit Massachusetts. Their trip attracts national media attention. 
• Across the country, Charlotte becomes known as "The City That Made Integration Work."
