Second Presbyterian Church

The Second Presbyterian Church was located at 214 North Tryon Street. It opened on October 22, 1873. Methodist Home

Charlotte Coliseum

This is Charlotte Coliseum that was built off of Independence Boulevard in 1955. This facility was one of the finest designs of its day. In 1989, the second Charlotte Coliseum opened in 1989 off of the Billy Graham Parkway. Today Coliseum #1 is used by a professional hockey team and other sporting clubs and events. Anderson's Restaurant

Anderson's Restaurant was located on Elizabeth Avenue. Founded in 1946 by Jimmie Anderson, it remained a popular family-owned restaurant until it closed in 2007. Pecan pie was the specialty of the house. Cannot be duplicated. Physical Description: 3x5 Publisher: Dynacards

Suttle Swimming Pool

The Suttle Swimming Pool was located on Wilkinson Boulevard. It was a popular area for swimming, having a picnic or archery. The grounds also featured a merry-go-round and a swinging chairs. Physical Description: 3x5 Publisher: E. C. Kropp Company

South 21 Drive-in

Elizabeth College

First Baptist Church

Once the home of First Baptist Church, this site is located in the 300 block of North Tryon Street. The church can trace its history to 1832. This facility was built in 1908 and served the congregation until the 1970s when they moved to a new church.
