Notes: `Robert Springer, the oldest man in Pennsylvania, died at Caermarvon, Lancaster County. He was a colored man who escaped from slavery upwards of 80 years ago.`Note: The 1880 Lancaster County, PA census lists him as 93 years old. He is listed with wife, Rachel: children Martin, Ellen, Mary, and Robert.
