Newspaper Delivery Men

'They Have Made The Caduceus Famous.' These men helped carry the newspaper to a ninety mile radius of Charlotte. The newspaper was selling almost 10,000 copies a week by September, 1918. The points of distribution were Charlotte, Gastonia, Statesville, Salisbury, Rock Hill, Kannapolis, Concord, Monroe, Mount Holly, Belmont or Hoskins. The men are, reading the top row from left to right, Toohey, Fields, Hilsabeck, Griswold, Bissell, Townsent, Mills, Wilson and Harrington. Seated are O'Connor, Donley and Lawlor with Frank seated on the ground. 'Joe' Lawlor, the big fellow who appears to be suffering a complete relapse because of the peaceful surroundings of the evergreens and oaks and pines, is the 'Champion' salesman to date. He sold 700 copies of the Caduceus on the streets of Statesville last Saturday; and he was rained out.
