Military Details:
Corporal Norman enlisted in May of 1966. He served his first 13 months in Okinawa. He had two brothers, Gary Norman and Toby Norman, who also served in the Marines. Corporal Norman volunteered for combat service in Vietnam to have his brother transfer to Okinawa, as the military had a rule where one brother had to serve in a combat zone at a time. Corporal Norman died from a gun shot wound to the head during a patrol, while his brother was scheduled to be transferred.
