Ferdinand Marz, Jr.

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: He was killed in action in Belgium just three days after returning to the battlefield. He had been recuperating from a wound he received on 12-24-1944. His memorial service was held at St. Marks Lutheran Church on 2-4-1945. Lt. Marz is buried at Forest Lawn West Cemetery on Freedom Drive.

Ernest McConnell

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: He was in the town of Frankenburg, Germany, and the citizens later named their theater McConnell Theatre in appreciation of him. He was buried in the U. S. Military Cemetery, St. Avold, France, plot E, row 10, grave 695. This cemetery is located 25 miles east of Metz, France.

Francis Lawther

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: Killed when an Army plane crashed into a mountain near Tucson, AZ during a snowstorm. Reported missing on Jan. 20 but was not found until Feb. 1 (year unknown). Funeral services were at St. Andrews Covenant Presbyterian Church, Wilmington, NC. Internment at Oakdale Cemetery.
