Throughout the years, many documents and print materials have been developed to commemorate "Meck Dec" Day. This is a comprehensive listing of historical documents found in this online exhibit.

1801 - reference to "the citizens of Mecklenburg, being first in their declaration of independence" Raleigh Register and North-Carolina Weekly Advertiser, April 14, 1801, p.3, cols.2-3. The reference is in #10 in the list of toasts drunk.

1809 - Valedictory Address of James Wallis reprinted in the Raleigh Minerva of Raleigh, NC, August 19, 1809, p.2, cols.1-3. See LeGette Blythe and Charles Brockman, Hornets' Nest, Chapter 3, for more about Wallis.

1813 - Article in The Star of Raleigh, NC, acknowledges Mecklenburg's early declaration of independence. (The Star, Oct 29, 1813, Volume 5, Issue 44, p.175)
