Robert Torrence

His name appears on the city draft roll. These draft cards have not survived. He lived with Mary, Margaret, Laura, Walter and Ola Torrence.His serial number was 3407. His obituary in The Charlotte Observer dated 3/24/1980 said he 'helped develop the U. S. Forestry Service and helped lay out the Myers Park community. During World War I, Torrence was a map maker at General Pershing's headquarters at Chaumont, France.' He left the U.S. on 10/28/1918 and arrived back in the U. S. from France on 6/30/1919.He died at age 86 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.
