Biographical Notes:
He replaced Col. L. W. V. Kennon as the commander of Camp Greene, according to a telegram dated 9/17/1918. He had served for 40 years in the regular army when he came to Camp Greene, participating in the Crow Indian campaign, the Northern Cheyenne and Indian campaigns in 1879, was in Puerto Rico during the Spanish-American War, was in the Phillipines from 1901-1903 and took part in the campaign against Mexico in 1916.
