Died of an accident or other causes (not disease) during the war as reported in a Nov. 1918 casualty list.Article from 1921 reports that he was killed in action on the St.Die sector, Vosges. His body was returned to Charlotte for burial in June 1921. He was buried at Paw Creek Presbyterian. His pallbearers were comrades Charles Misenheimer, Sid McAden, Ruffin Smith, Joe Black, Avery Evans and TC Guthrie.
