Miners' and Farmers' Journal, October 26, 1833, p.3
Another Revolutionary Patriot gone.
Died, in this county, on the 19th inst. at his residence ten miles west of Charlotte, Mr. Alexander Porter, in the 94th year of his age. He was actively engaged during our Revolutionary Struggle, and was among those who met in Charlotte on the 20th May, 1775, to proclaim independence. He was long a useful and intelligent citizen, a kind and indulgent parent, and died, we believe, in full exercise of the Christian faith.—Communicated.
