Newspapers [1]
The Carolina Room has an extensive collection of historical and current newspapers.
- We maintain current subscriptions to local papers and keep hard copies when microfilm is not available.
- Our microfilm collection includes newspapers from Mecklenburg County as well as newspapers from other towns in the Carolinas.
- Below please find an alphabetical list of microfilm holdings. (There is also a c [2]hronological list [3].)
Please Note:
- None of our newspaper collections is complete. The older ones especially may have just a few issues in one year. Contact us if you have questions about specific dates.
- There is a growing number of historic newspapers available for reading and searching online at the North Carolina Digital [4]Heritage Center, and through the Library’s Online Resources [5] page
