Carver College opens: 1949
- Carver College opens a new branch to meet the black veterans' needs. Returning World War II veterans begin to take advantage of educational benefits offered by the government.
- As early as 1946, white veterans could attend night classes of Charlotte College, held at Central High School.
- To meet the needs of returning black veterans, Carver College opens a campus at Second Ward High School in 1949.
- Dr. E.H. Brown [1] served as director at Carver College.
