July 5, 1970 - Rev. Colemon Kerry, Jr., leads the dedication of the new Friendship Baptist Church on Beatties Ford Road.
- In 1963, Friendship’s Brevard Street sanctuary was demolished by the city as part of urban renewal.
- After more than seven years of holding church services at the Northwest Junior High School Auditorium, the church is able to raise the funds to rebuild.
- William Morrow and Walter Ervin break ground for the new church (pictured).
- Rev. Kerry lays the cornerstone [1] for the church.
