Daisy and Gerson Stroud

Daisy: My name is Daisy Mae Spears Stroud and I was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. I was born in  First Ward. Growing up I went to high school [2] at a school called Second Ward High School, where the person that you see that is on my right attended school. At that time he was best friend to my brother [3] who was a little older than I, and we had no idea that we would ever be posing for a picture like this, celebrating fifty years of marriage. I figured that I would marry [4] but you know when you’re in school with someone and he’s not your friend, he’s your brother’s friend and probably regarded me as sort of like a brat.

Gerson: My wife mentioned that I was a friend of her brother’s [5], and we were very close friends and associates. She also mentioned that she was just a little brat and she was saying it right.
