Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: His plane crashed into the ocean while on a bombing raid on Rome.Notice of his captaincy reached North Africa three days after his plane went down. Memorial service on April 23, 1944 at Hillside Cemetery. Laurinburg Presbyterian Church pastor officiated. Memorial marker in North Africa.
