He served in WW I as an enlisted man. Hanson began practicing law in Charlotte in 1923. He retired from the Inspector General's Dept. after three years of service in WW II. Including his years in reserve officer training, he served more than 21 years in the military.He was released from the convalescent hospital at Miami Beach, FL, when he ended his military career. He planned to return to Charlotte and practice in the Law Bldg.He had a wife and 3 children by 1945.
