Biographical Notes:
He contributed bound volumes of the 'Caduceus,' the weekly newspaper published at Camp Greene during 1918-1919. He was stationed at Camp Greene for 19 months and was on the staff of the newspaper. He wrote the library director, Hoyt Galvin, that even after 32 years, thoughts of Charlotte gave him a feeling of homesickness and the wish that he could renew his friendships with those who made his stay such a pleasant one. He particularly credited Mrs. J. P. Caldwell and 'Mother Grier' as two who were particularly responsible for making the boys at the camp happy and comfortable.
