Kitchen
On the west wall of the dining room, a door leads to the kitchen [9]. Most of the room has been equipped with modern conveniences, which allow for meetings to be held in the building. The antique stove was purchased with money raised in a recipe contest sponsored by Charlotte TV station WBTV. An antique butter churn sits on the floor to the left of the stove.
In order to see the rest of the home, you must go back into the dining room and then enter the back of the hall.
Bathroom of the Dowd House
In the hall to your left, you enter a half bathroom [10], which was not part of the house when the Dowd family or the Army occupied the home. The Cook family had a part of the back porch enclosed to add this half bathroom.
As you leave the bathroom and turn left, you enter the office.
