Burial in the 5th Marine Division Cemetery at the foot of Mt. Suribachi. Memorial service at Indian Trail Methodist Church in May, 1948. Newprint says internment at Sharon Memorial Park.

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: While on his 5th mission, his plane was disabled by enemy fire. US Bombers saw several men parachute from the plane. German Govt informed Red Cross that he was dead. A memorial service was held on 11-18-1945 at the Duncan Memorial Methodist Church in Charlotte. His brother Robert was killed in France in 1944.
