Neil Pinky Cline

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: He and 5 other paratroopers in Company I fought for 33 days without relief or replacement in Normandy. His mother reported that he was killed in the Battle of the Belgium Bulge. Paratroopers had jumped into a spot a day or so early to scout. They set up camp in an abandoned house. Neil was hit in the head by shrapnel. He was unconscious for 3 days before dying. He was buried in Belgium, and his grave was adopted by a local Belgium girl. A memorial service was held at the Tenth Avenue Presbyterian Church in Charlotte on 3-11-1945.

Robert Corriher

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: He was killed at Normandy. His memorial service was held at Duncan Memorial Methodist Church on 10-15-1944.

John Crowley

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: Was shot down over Frankfurt, Germany.Died as a POW at the Reims Military Hospital in France, and his body was later returned to the U.S. Last rites were conducted at McEwen chapel, with interment at Evergreen Burial park in Mint Hill on Apr 16, 1949.

Robert Dawson, III

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: Killed in action when his company was surrounded by enemy fire. He was working as a corpsman on the line. Burial in the 3rd Division Cemetery on Iwo Jima, Row 31, grave 751. Memorial Mass at St. Patricks Church on 4-8-1945.

Warren Coan

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: He was serving on the destroyer U. S. S. Kimberly when a Japanese suicide plane crashed into the gun mount at which he was stationed. Memorial marker at Punchbowl National Memorial Cemetery in Honolulu, HI.

Marcus Courtney

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: He was a pilot of a B-24 Liberator and was killed in action on D-day. Before his death, he had completed about 20 missions from his base in England. At the time of his death, he was designated by his crew as a group leader. He was buried in the American Military Cemetery in Cambridge, England, plot E, row 3, grave 22. A memorial service and mural unveiling were held at Dilworth Methodist Church on 10-7-1945.

Clarence Cobb

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: Plane hit by anti-aircraft fire over Tilburg, Holland or Duren, Germany. Plane was heading back across the English Channel when the engine caught fire and several crew members parachuted out. They were over the North Sea about 25 miles from shore and drowned in the freezing waters before a ship could reach them. Memorial marker in Cambridge, England.
