Keith Taylor

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: He was returning from a routine combat training flight piloting a C-47 troop carrier plane. He was killed when the plane crashed. His funeral was at Enderly park Baptist church on 9-24-1944. Internment was at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Charlotte.

Otto Riddle

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: Since Sept. 1944, he had completed 27 missions. He was killed in an air crash, while on a practice bombing mission in Italy. Buried in a US cemetery in southern Italy. Memorial service at Thomasboro Presbyterian on May 9, 1946.

Julius Mack Julie Sealy, Jr.

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: His bomber was shot down over Austria while on a mission to bomb Wiener Neudorf. Although several chutes were seen leaving the plane and some of his comrades were POWs, German records show that he was buried in Andau, Austria. Flew on about 20 missions. Memorial service at Tabernacle ARP Church on May 26, 1946.

Raleigh Shoemaker

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: He was on one of his first missions as a commander of a large number of B-17s, which was organized at Geiger Field, Spokane, WA, since October, 1943. His plane went down after receiving flak hits in the engines. He had only been in England for 10 days.

Arno Seifart

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: With their platoon under attack, he and another man from his unit advanced through heavy machine gun and mortar fire and were able to wipe out the gun emplacement. They continued to attack the German soldiers until killed by sniper fire.

Charles Sigmon

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: He was killed in action and interred in North Africa. His body was sent home in May 1948 at his mothers request.

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: Memorial service held at Southside Baptist Church, December 12, 1944. Another memorial service was held at the US Rubber Co. in April 1945, with Mrs. L. A. Ritch receiving a gold star and an Army testament.
