Daisy and Gerson Stroud

Daisy: My name is Daisy Mae Spears Stroud and I was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. I was born in  First Ward. Growing up I went to high school at a school called Second Ward High School, where the person that you see that is on my right attended school. At that time he was best friend to my brother who was a little older than I, and we had no idea that we would ever be posing for a picture like this, celebrating fifty years of marriage. I figured that I would marry but you know when you’re in school with someone and he’s not your friend, he’s your brother’s friend and probably regarded me as sort of like a brat.

Gerson: My wife mentioned that I was a friend of her brother’s, and we were very close friends and associates. She also mentioned that she was just a little brat and she was saying it right.
