Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: Ran into heavy flak over Heidelberg and was seen going into a dive. Three parachutes were seen and 2 of flyers were accounted for. He took part in the invasion of Southern France and had completed over 50 missions at the time of his last flight.

George Ficklen

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: He was awarded the Purple Heart and cited for gallantry after the Buna Mission in 1942. After recovering in Australian hospitals, he was offered service in the U.S., but he elected to remain in the Pacific theater. He was made Company Commander and led his men at New Guinea and Luzon, where he was killed in action.
