Museum Looking South & East
Standing along the south wall of the museum is another mannequin in a different World War I uniform. On the wall is a map of Camp Greene and a plaque describing how Charlotte's city fathers went to great lengths to compete with Wilmington and Fayetteville, North Carolina as well as Athens, Georgia to acquire a military camp.

A gravel path on the northwest side of the house leads to this wooden trellis. At the bottom left of the front post is a granite and bronze plaque. The Mecklenburg Park and Recreation Department installed the trellis and plaque in 2000.
The plaque reads:
