Leslie Heath, Jr.

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: Wounded in action in Germany on January 15th, and died in France the next day. Burial and memorial marker at the Army Cemetery in Luxembourg. Mural unveiling and a special communion service held on 10/7/45 at Dilworth Methodist Church honoring 10 members who gave their lives in WWII.

Hargett, as dying from non-battle related causes. The Y.M.C.A. has a file for someone named Virgil Hargett, who was killed in action in the Solomon Islands but does not list the source other than The Charlotte News.

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: He was a navigation officer on board an Army tanker, which was operating in the English Channel at the time of his death.

Death Details/Burial/Memorial Services: His wife published Philippine Postscripts to give to ~800 families of men captured by the Japanese in the Battle of the Philippines. Grimes was executed while a Japanese POW held in the Philippines. Wife later moved to Ft. McClellan, AL.
